Coffee Cup Stains and Question Marks

The dull brown stains have a story to tell
The story that have been woven with the memories of friends
And their tête-à-tête
What will they say
And what will they tell
It remains a question until they met
The long conversations that help them unwind
Are the memories that are building in their minds
The coffee cup stains on the tables they sat
Have a story to tell that will remain unsaid
And then comes another pair
And server makes a repair
There begins another story that will be shared
But the witness will be few
Those who sit there
The coffee cup stains and the question marks
Speaks for million tears
Which were once shared
With many chuckles
That will always remain
Over the coffee cup stains.

  1. oh... This is lovely. Wonderful. And to think of it, coffee stains, questions and memories are so interrelated. These lines make me remember the stains on my table, second from left. I so miss it all....

  6. Very cool to think of the stories behind things like coffee cup stains and then to consider the new ones that will come with new owners.

  7. Very nice - if only the coffee cups and/or the tables themselves could talk, yes? Such tales they could tell us ...
