Friendship Day and Haiku Game Episode 4

The August moon glows
bejeweling the castle
ghosts jive daintily

Hello Readers of Jaskiran Canvas,
I am That Man... Yes, you can call me That Man and I feel great to write this episode for my bud Jaskiran, a superb poet, writer and friend. On this day of Friendship, we thought why not write guest blogs, so, here I am. Just like Jaskiran, I too am a poet and writer and apart from that I make music (not to score chicks but for the love of music J). You might get to see more on this space if only she lets me hangout here with you guys!
The haiku makes me want to fly all the way to Ireland and spend a week at one of the castles. The mystical land of Ireland is ever enchanting with breath-taking landscapes and haunting castles.
These collaborations will continue and if you have any suggestions for That Man, drop a comment.
Much Love,
That Man

The Firefly Story

Dancing in the woods
the wayward fireflies light
and sparkles unleash

Lighting up the path
as my lantern’s wick burns out
fireflies guide me through

Part 2 of the haiku game... and I so enjoy it.......

SUNRISE

You give me a prompt
to excite the lost writer in me
to bring out the words, the lyrical melodies.
Yet, I feel clinched by an evil power
that subdues my talent, my endowment, my art.

I want to break-free
be the fearless knight, whose power resides in pen as his arm
render delightful shape to the words that were once my grace.

To look at the sunrise in the east
and pen down a poetry
basked in the pleasures of the first light of the day
bathing the world in new hope, zeal and vigor to play our games,
be the best in our trades.

I yearn to go back to the days
when a writer in me could even create from haze
that moistens the window after a long cold night
engulfed in fog, dazed.

I long to view the words flow like river
Cascading into a large pool full of wonders.
Will it ever be the same?

Will I ever bathe in the warmth of dayspring, again?

Streets of karol bagh- Haiku….

Streets of karol bagh
Humming like band in concert
Blingy aunties walk.

This one's to the writers' reunion and creative thinking.
This haiku is a product of collaboration of two writer friends, that is, a friend of mine and me. In past, we have created many poems and haiku together but it had been a while since we did the same. But now, we are back..............

P.S: this one is one of my favorite...

THE BEGINNING OF TEACHING

The Sun shines with glistening rays of a new day’s hopes,
as I step in the school.
Back to school, but with a twist in tale,
reminding me of the days I left behind.
When I used to walk the grounds that defined
the path I walked on for the rest of my life.

It is a role reversal now,
for today, I step in not to discover,
but to help the little ones explore,
their road to learning, their road to determine.
Today, I become their guide, their tutor, their mentor,
with the School Experience Programme I begin a journey`
A journey to be a teacher.

With new hopes and new aspirations,
zeal to learn lessons of life.
With warm smiles that welcome me,
my heart takes a joyful leap.
With lessons prepared to deliver
I enter the world where I have been before.

To school, a place that has been a part of us,
I return, but this time to stand on the other side
in front of the rows and columns of benches
in front of the blackboard that awaits me to write and draw.

While the young ones learn, question and explore,
I begin my new journey.
A journey to be a teacher,
A journey to learn again and discover.

The garden beams up
They foxtrot in unison
To the winds of spring.

Blush haiku

Blush, the crimson hue
Your face like glitzy berry
In love, it shows up.
